Okay. Again, great stories. Trouble deciding. So here it goes.
WS1 HB2 JS1
I was swayed by the romantic stories. And although Wendy's wasn't romantic, I really like the imagery and pacing she put in it. A strong first story.

I'm assuming I don't get to vote since I am merely observing but if I did/do then it would be a tie between TW1 and DK1. You guys are serious about this, eh! Sorry but I couldn't deal with the "slimey saugages"!!! Barrie, anyone can vote whether they played or not. You can also vote for 3 total if you would like. Right now I'm considering you as having voted for TW1 and DK1. If you want to add another or change the vote, edit your original post. The voting ends three hours from now.

Voting's over. I will give the results tonight. I'm going to do it a tad different (surprise!). There will be two sets of results. One will be a total that reflects votes + words used, and the other with just the votes. That way we will have the technical winner and the popular winner. The popular winner this time will have the option of choosing the next set of words (10 total), so that gives incentive to not just use as many words as you can to get the points.
I will say now that not all stories got votes. That sucks, which is why I am in favor of either a serious retooling of the voting process, or eliminating the vote. Derek wants to keep the vote because, let's face it, he's a competitive guy. And I guess without any kind of competition it wouldn't be a game. At the same time I would like for people who haven't been playing all along to not feel outclassed before they even try, or after one attempt.
Should we have two games running? One for fun with no votes where people can get their feet wet and one for competition where Derek can hand us our collective asses? I would like to get your feedback on this.

Hand me my ass, my ass, Derek! I'll see you in the story-telling ring, mister & then we'll see who's ass gets handed to whom! Yes, I agree with the story-for-fun idea....despite what I said above I'm not serious about winning.

Remember The Rules For the Writing Game Are as Follows: In no particular order!
1)You MUST use profanity...I accomplished this quite nicely doooon't ya think?
2) Someone must have sex...it doesn't really matter what they have sex with ...but sex must be had.
3) You must write the story naked...and outdoors. We sometimes alter this rule during the cold months...you can wear shoes.
4)You must send money. Cash preferably! Not a lot, just enough for me to eat lunch.
Anybody caught breaking these rules will forfeit their next 3 paychecks (to me) and be gnawed to death by a wolverine...yes Derek, you get to do the honors. Down boy...sit! Good Wolverine! *pets Derek's head*
[/quote]
Funny you should say so Tricia, the first three are just regular old life rules for me <vbg> As far as the wolverine, I happen to know that in the paper/rock/scissors of the animal world a malinois trumps a wolverine every time and since I just happen to have a malinois handy I think I will just take my chances on rule number 4 and promise to just never wear shoes, k? <g>

First results (Technical), including word usage:
CB1: 33 + 5 = 38 JS1: 33 + 3 = 36 WS1: 33 + 2 = 35 HB2: 32 + 2 = 34 JK1: 32 + 1 = 33 HB1: 31 + 2 = 33 SLL1: 32 + 0 = 32 TW1: 25 + 5 = 30 DK1: 16 + 6 = 22
Secondary results (Popular), votes only.
DK1: 6 TW1: 5 CB1: 5 JS1: 3 WS1: 2 HB2: 2 HB1: 2 JK1: 1 SLL1: 0
So, next time it will be 10 words of Derek's choice, random or deliberate. Those will be for the Storytelling Competition Round 5.
5 points for using all 10, 3 points for using any of the words, and 0 points if you want to ignore the words and make your own story from thin air. Then everyone, participant and not will be able to vote for their favorite 3 stories.
I will choose 5 random words and start a non judged story that people who don't want to compete or just want to practice can write in. Each time I set one of those up there is no deadline for writing.
Thanks to everyone for playing, and I hope you will come play again.
